With this new painting, I continue to explore textures and how they can interact visually. Specifically, The texture is static while adding movement draws the eye over the texture. I hope you enjoy! JLRC
I challenged myself in letting the surface be created by the chemical reaction of drying and a new type of polymer. The results are very intriguing. I believe I have only scratched the surface. Enjoy!
An addition to the Planet9 Series, ‘3cl-1pse’. I’ve attempted close proximity planetoid bodies as an explanation for Planet9 not being found readily enough. I just did not seem to accomplish anything eye catching till this one. by making one surface much smaller of the other, the eclipse shape becomes more pronounced. In previous attempts, each surface was a mirror/twin of the other. The visual created just did not seem to play out well. Much like the eclipse of North America coming soon, it might have been that event that lead me to this portrayal: How we all live in a partial shadow of another.
An addition to the Blue, Red, White series, ‘Harvest’ is a celebration that we *all* will reach the stars. I hope you enjoy! JLRC
Maybe that it is nearing July 4th or just ‘Rockets Red Glare’…not sure of the source for this one. Regardless, this fits into my ‘Vessels’ series just fine.
As part of this series, I am exploring a couple of techniques that I have found interesting and have applied them together to create interesting textures. The subject matter of ‘Vessels’ is literally and metaphorically the transportation/transmutation to somewhere/someone else. Very much my goal with art, if but for a short time. I hope you enjoy! JLRC
With this painting, I imagined what it might be Planet9’s perspective back into the solar system. Peering through an ice/dust band, Planet9 hides from earthlings. JLRC
Using a variety of abstract/mixed media techniques, I created this possible candidate as Planet9. This ice planet has trapped a comet and ice crystals of various elements orbit the planet in a ring. I hope you enjoy! JLRC
